Stephanie’s dedication to ICD’s mission and her vision for the field make her the ideal leader to both build upon the 100-year legacy of excellence and drive the innovation that will carry the department forward. Her leadership roles as director of graduate studies and associate director during her time since joining the faculty in 2007 demonstrate her commitment to the success of ICD. Her experience as an entrepreneur and business leader, and her seminal contributions to the field of developmental psychology, provide a strong foundation for her leadership as director.

Stephanie shared the following message regarding her appointment:

"I am deeply honored to step into the role of director of the Institute of Child Development. My primary commitment is to foster an environment where our exceptional faculty, staff, and students feel unfailingly supported in their professional and academic development. By advocating for our community and amplifying our impact, I aim to reinforce our standing as a global leader in the field. I look forward to this journey of excellence and shared success."

ICD also wishes to thank Dr. Kathleen Thomas for her six years of service as director. She will return to her faculty role as Stephanie transitions to her leadership position this summer.
