Biography

Judy Woods, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and a licensed professional clinical counselor with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She completed a two year Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Certificate from the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Woods works with children, adults, and their families. She specializes in working with very young children (infants, toddlers, and preschoolers); children with severe emotional and behavioral needs; children with autism spectrum disorders; as well as children who have experienced abuse, neglect or trauma. She has expertise in providing psychological assessments and comprehensive evaluations. She is a certified provider and Level I Trainer of Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT); and trained/rostered to provide and train clinicians in Trauma-Informed Child Parent Psychotherapy and Incredible Years child and parent programs. The Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health Infant and Early Childhood Division (MACMH-IEC) has endorsed her as an Infant Mental Health Clinical Mentor (Level IV). She is the outpatient mental health clinical director at a community mental health center, is a mental health consultant and psychologist in private practice, serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health Infant and Early Childhood Division, and is actively involved in the community.  Dr. Woods is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health Infant and Early Childhood Division.  She serves on the faculty at the University of Minnesota Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Certificate Program within the Institute for Child Development.  She has served as an adjunct faculty member for Winona State University, University of Phoenix, Capella University, and Walden University.
