ICD child life MA students receive internship placements

Students specializing in child life through ICD’s online MA in applied child and adolescent development continue to see success as they pursue careers supporting children and families in healthcare and community settings.

The child life track will admit its 6th cohort of students this summer. In 2019, we were one of the first programs in the nation to obtain academic endorsement from the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) and pledged that our curriculum meets the ACLP’s requirements for “Internship Equity & Access” for students.

Here are a few accomplishments of our ICD child life students:

  • 67% of child life students have matched with clinical internship sites in their first round and 100% have matched within one year of applying for internships.
  • 100% of child life students pass the professional certification exam on the first attempt.
  • 100% of students who completed the clinical internship were hired in the field within 3 months post-graduation.
